The Oceanis 50 is the fourth generation of a popular boat. The signature feature being the coachroof area with its low-slung top and angular windows atop a hull with plenty of topside height. The hull is beamy with a full forward section and a wide transom with a useful swim platform area. Stepping aboard is easy, through the stern to the roomy cockpit with the twin steering wheels either side. The layout is user-friendly. With accommodation for six, the cockpit reflects this as well, with good use of storage in the table and surrounding lockers.
Down below, the interior is fitted out in a darkish shade of veneered teak. Throughout the three-cabin layout, good natural light streams in from large hatches and skylights, yet the airy feel doesn’t turn the saloon into a dance floor. Privacy is good with blinds on all windows and hatches. The forward cabin is designed as the owner’s accommodation with the deep forward hull shape allowing for walk-in access on either side of the comfortable, slatted bed. Like elsewhere in the boat cabinetry is well finished with solid push-button doors. The starboard dressing table with mirror and drawer is yet another luxury touch that demonstrates where Beneteau is positioning the latest Oceanis range. The 2 aft cabins are spacious with an ensuite starboard head/shower, courtesy of dual doors in the cubicle.
